How to Reach a Goal!

How are your resolutions going? Have you been working on them, or are you already
giving up and quitting?  Don’t do it, Don’t give up.

Many people  set goals, and set  SMART Goals. These are long range goals that are to
be met sometime in the future. But, this is not what I’m gonna talk about here.

So,  what if this is your year, and you are going to reach that goal?  How do you do it without giving up? Without getting frustrated and quitting?

What if you set a goal a tangible goal that could be met in one week?

For instance, I have eaten a lot of sweets and extra food these past two weeks,
I also didn’t do any extra workouts. Therefore, I ended up gaining a few pounds, (Boo Hoo)
I want to lose those few pounds so my goal this week is to walk 10,000 steps every day.
I also noticed that every day after dinner, I have  been eating something sweet.
So I decided I would also set a goal to not at any sweets after 7:00 pm.
Two tangible goals.

The thought is if you set a tangible goal, that coincides with the long term goal you are working on,
you will begin seeing success. These  weekly tangible goals are like little steps towards your
long range goal, small actions you can take to help you reach that goal.

These weekly goals can be  easily reached , therefore you feel successful!

I'll let you know next week how setting and meeting two tangible goals went.

Till then, enjoy your coffee n carmel!

Happy New Year!

January 2, 2019

Happy New year! Happy New Beginnings, Hopes and Dreams.

Yesterday I thought about my resolutions, although, I don't call them that. they are more like goals, but not worded that way. They are just areas of my life I want to work on. For the past three years they were  Faith, Family, Friendships,  Finances and Fitness,. These are the areas of my life I am working on, making better. In the last three years I have been doing better in those areas. Someday I will explain more . I decided to change it up a little this year. I'm going to Level up my life. I am  Living more, Loving more, Laughing more, Learning more, and Living Large!

I am an elementary School teacher. This is my 30th year.  I now teach reading to students with dyslexia, I love what I do. I love watching a child who could barely read in second grade become a reader, and love reading by the time they get to fifth grade. Does this love of reading happen to all of them, no of course not, but they work hard at it ! I love that part too!

At home, I spend a lot more time than I want on the couch, watching TV, listening to my Hubby lay on the bed in the other room play poker, or watch you tube videos. We have been married for 28 years.  Our children are grown, two have moved out and are truly on their own. One in Chicago with his girlfriend, one here in San Antonio with her boyfriend and 7 year old daughter. The other two live at home, but sleeping here is about all they do. One works two part time jobs, and plays video games, he is planning on moving out in Feb. The other is having a baby in May, and her boyfriend lives with us. She is working full time in retail.

So how am I going to level up my life? How am I going to change, get off the couch and do more living? Good question!

First, my faith is good! God is the most important part of my life. I keep learning and growing in my faith! Check out my Pinerest board Spiritual Journey I have been reading writing, and journaling bible scriptures the past two years. I have to do it every morning!

Next,  I have to fix the finances again. We remodeled the Kitchen this fall,
and now have depleted all of the savings accounts, and have used more in credit cards then we wanted. But, I do have a beautiful kitchen!
My all time favorite books about personal finance are by Dave Ramsey. I am working on the baby steps, but am gonna have to start over yet again. If you can, read them! Even if you are  part of the working poor, his books can help you. I highly recommend them!

That is it for today. Gotta go live my life and take the Christmas things down and put them away. Have a great week!
